The US is moving at a snail’s pace in changing their online poker laws, but it appears as though change is coming to the country. If, and when, that change occurs, there also could be a shift in the power rankings of the top players in the world.Phil Ivey has been considered by many to be the best player in the game over the past five years. A look at the September top ten rankings on ESPN, however, has Ivey off the list. It is the first time in a long time that the popular pro is not on the list, but it could be a sign of what is to come.”Online players have invaded the poker world at the professional level, and if the US changes their laws, the number of online pros will only increase,” said Poker Analyst Marc Goobsey. “It is a change at the top that could be always in flux due to how may players are now turning pro.”Back in the old days, it was the same fifty or one hundred players that dominated the cash games and the tournaments. The Internet poker age, however, has brought thousands of players to the tables, many of which have made a living playing the game, and some have actually become millionaires through the game. The future of the industry and the rankings hangs in the hands of US lawmakers.Several bills are on the table that would regulate online poker at a national level. Once that law is changed, and by all indications, the day is coming when the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 is reversed, then a new wave of players will enter the poker scene. by Monday,23 May 2011 Still reeling from the April crackdown online gaming begins lobbying Congress for a change in the law In the wake of the April crackdown on online gaming by US authorities the American Gaming Association (AGA) has begun its lobbying campaign in the US Congress to regulate online poker in the USA. There are plenty of benefits for the US government when it comes to the regulation of online poker and the AGAs support for such regulation serves as a reminder how many US gaming interests would like to get into the online poker market place.The move was announced at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC which was headed by the CEO of the AGA, Frank Fahrenkopf. Several other influential players in the world of online gaming including the President of Boyd Gaming, Keith Smith, The CEO of Ameristar Casinos Gordon Kanofsky and the President of Isle of Capri casino Virginia McDowell were also in attendance. The Associated Press reported Fahrenkopf as arguing that The millions of Americans who are playing poker online deserve to know that they are playing safely, with law abiding operators. Gaming leaders are said to be meeting with various congressmen in the coming days to discuss regulation in detail.The move by the AGA comes while 11 executives in the world of online gaming are under indictment for various charges, including money laundering and fraud. The big three poker sites had their assets and their domains frozen and hundreds of thousands of American poker players are still unable to get access to their funds. This isnt the first time that an attempt has been made to legalise online poker. Senator Harry Reid, representing the state of Nevada attempted to separate online poker from the rest of the online gaming as included in current legislation though his attempt fell flat in Congress. This hasnt stopped the AGA from continuing it the attempt to ensure the legalisation of online gaming in the future. Regulation will see US poker players playing against other players from the US only when they are online. Regulation would also ensure that the US government effectively becomes a partner in the online gaming industry and would take a hefty share of the profits as tax revenue. As it currently stands the world of online poker has lost its major source of players.

by Thursday,11 Aug 2011 With all events played and only the November Nine yet to finish the WSOP 2011 has come to an end The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2011 has come to a dramatic close with this being one of the most successful years ever, much bigger than predicted by the vast majority of poker fans and pundits. Coming in the wake of the April 15th, Black Friday, crack down by the United States authorities that saw the largest online poker sites in the world ejected from the United States market, by far the biggest market in the world. There were huge fears that the 2011 WSOP would be a washout as a result with players unable to find the money to take with them to Las Vegas to compete in the tournaments. What actually happened was that the events of Black Friday occurred close enough to the WSOP that players were able to scrape together the last of their bankrolls to make one last big shove at the poker festival to make sure that they have a decent size bankroll to play live games, which are now their only source of income. Although Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker failed to pay back their US players, Poker Stars did, allowing more US players to attend the WSOP with money in their pockets than otherwise could have. The WSOP 2011 was a massive poker festival and with 57 winners bracelets distributed the poker rankings have, as per usual in the wake of the WSOP, been changed to reflect the new status of a whole range of players who managed to dominate the biggest poker series in the world. The Main Event has been played down to the final nine and we await the final action table that is to come in November as the now famous November nine get set to battle it out for the biggest prize in the poker world. This year the nine finalists are from all over the world as opposed to previous years when the majority are from the United States. Perhaps this already reflects the way in which Black Friday has affected American poker. British fans will be pleased to see that Sam Holden made it, although with the smallest chip stack as things stand. Other interesting facts are that six of the November Nine are in their twenties making this most certainly a young mans game. Also for the first time Belize and the Czech Republic are represented at the table.

After some serious thought Ive decided that Im getting into the porn affiliate business. Although I do enjoy going to strip bars, I seldom view porn online. Im not a big fan, but when I do go on to those types of sites I like nude model sites. The poker affiliate business is a tough niche and Im sure the porn affiliate niche is just as difficult. I have to seek other means of income after the destruction of Full Tilt Poker by the DOJ. Sorry, back to my point, I wanted to promote a nude soft core porn site rather than a hardcore porn site that I would be embarrassed to work for. I chose this soft porn affiliate program. I am doing a 50% revenue share with them and plan on developing some sites to promote them. I have had some sites up for over a year dealing with females, but have been too busy promoting poker sites. Poker and hot chicks is a good mix but I dont know if the poker sites I have up can convert porn?? Outsource your programming for less.
